What is the New Kia Stinger? It's Grand Touring Gone Kia

Known until recently as the Kia GT Concept Car, Kia's stunning new grand touring car--the 2018 Stinger--debuted earlier this year as the boldest and most adventurous new offering from the brand who may best be known for the quirky Soul and the comfortable Sorento.

And it's already making waves.

At the 2017 North American International Auto Show, it was named "Best in Show" by Cars.com, and won the "EyesOn Design" award for Production Car Design Excellence--and it's only just arrived on the scene.

Learn more about the all-new 2018 Stinger, and see why this sharp new design is taking over the market.

What Is It?

The 2018 Stinger is "a true Grand Touring vehicle": a four-door cruiser meant to hit the road and stay on it. A comfortable, luxury GT car that's ideal for a quick trip to the store, or, even better, a long trip somewhere on curving, winding mountain roads.

What Does It Bring?

Under the hood, the 2018 Stinger will be offer a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, good for 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, or a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 good for 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque.

Will It Have All-Wheel Drive?

Yes.

That may be one of the most exciting announcements about the new 2018 Kia Stinger--there are few cars in the lineup that do offer AWD, but we can expect to see it in this gorgeous new grand tourer. Rear-wheel drive comes standard for drivers who prefer the iconic, back-power feel of RWD.

Why Is It Significant?

Like the introduction of the K900, the upgrading of the Optima, and the sportification of the Sportage, the new 2018 Stinger represents another massive step for the Kia brand toward a more premium lineup of cars.
